Learning & Succeeding

On Sept 6th 2015 our son Landyn goes to school for the first time, he gets to ride the bus and start an adventure of learning. Landyn had many difficulties within himself and didn't know how to show his emotions or know how to control them, he couldn't speak very much for a child of his age and therefore was unable to communicate to his teachers or peers. Landyn started to use certain behaviors to handle situations ie: spitting, not listening, and playing and throwing water along with other major concerns. By the grace of God came along the most amazing teachers Mme Francella-Stephen and RECE Mme Westerman-Beatty as well as other teachers on his team to help him succeed. Mme Francella-Stephen and Mme Westerman-Beatty took control and were determined to help Landyn succeed in life. Most teachers would have just followed the simple rules of education and the guidelines of what is written on paper to just move him along but the both of you took your time and your energy to focus on Landyn's needs while teaching other students what they need. With the school only going as far as what is written these truly special people went above and beyond for Landyn. They were patient yet headstrong with his learning and his behaviour over the past 3 years he has spent with them. Mme Francella -Stephen and Mme Westerman-Beatty took a difficult yet fragile child under their angel wings and have brought our child Landyn out of a blocked path to an open door to the world. Landyn now speaks and socializes with his peers and teachers and is learning at an even pace as his classmates. Landyn loves going to school and loves his teachers very much. He has become confident in his learning and in himself, and is a much happier child all around.

Thank you to Mme Francella-Stephen and Mme Westerman-Beatty for the most amazing job in teaching and caring for your students. We appreciate all the love and determination you both have for Landyn, in helping him succeed. There are not enough words to express how much gratitude and appreciation we as parents have for the two of you. We want to thank you for choosing this profession, if it wasn't for amazing people like you then Landyn would have just slipped away into the school system and probably failed with others just pushing him onto someone else. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for going above and beyond for our son Landyn.

Outdoor Learning project/Technology/Seesaw

We strongly believe that the outdoor learning project is amazing opportunity for students. Landyn loves going on field trips, he loves to be outside playing and learning. He enjoys going on hikes, playing in the puddles, learning about leaves, insects, different kinds of trees and what the outdoor learning project has to offer. He enjoys being in that atmosphere, being able to run free.

The use of technology and Seesaw is a great way to interact and communicate what the children are doing throughout the day. We love seeing videos or pictures of Landyn as well as the whole class while in the middle of a lesson. It's nice to be able to interact with Landyn when he comes home from school with the knowledge of what he has done for the day. We love seeing the videos of him learning and succeeding.
