To whom this may concern,

My son has been a part of the elkp outdoor learning project for the past 2 years. He comes home with knowledge on how worms live, how tadpoles grow into frogs, how to plant seeds, and how to play with what is around him in nature rather than relying on toys. He has developed a comfort and a strength while he is in nature. The frequent trips to Saint Kateri have really given him a respect for nature and fearlessness that you can only learn through exposure. He always comes home with wonderful stories of his adventures for me which makes his older sister a bit jealous. I feel as though children (not only kindergarten but all grades) don't get enough time outside to burn off energy but this year has been fantastic! After a day at St. Kateri he doesn't have trouble sleeping, he's happier and it makes for a more pleasant learning experience. The outdoor project that is being Led by the kindergarten teachers have really had a positive impact in all of our lives. Instead of playing with videogames and watching TV our son chooses to play outside in nature and has respect for all living creatures. Thank you so much to the dedicated kindergarten staff for getting our kids back in touch with nature. I hope to see more of this in the future in all grades!

Thank you, Kaya (Parent)
